What Causes Stretch Marks?

Stretch marks are lines on the skin that commonly appear as a result of a sudden change in weight. When the skin stretches, it tears apart. Once it’s stopped growing and it returns to its normal state, stretch marks are left behind because this part of the skin is not supported by the same collagen underneath.

This is often because of weight loss, weight gain, or pregnancy. Stretch marks can also start to show through puberty. Typically, they first appear a darker colour before fading over time.

How Much Does The Procedure Cost?

At ØNE aesthetic studiø, stretch marks are typically targeted with two different treatments. The first is Mesotherapy, and standard prices start at £175. The second is Dermaroller™, prices start at £300 for this technique. A full medical evaluation will take place at your first consultation to evaluate which procedure is best for the patient and to discuss all applicable costs.

How Can They Be Treated?

Our stretch marks treatment aims to greatly reduce the appearance of stretch marks, though no procedure can get rid of them entirely.

Mesotherapy: This is a treatment that Dr Chantrey recommends for those who want to improve their skins radiance and firmness. The multiple micro-injections stimulate the production of collagen, a crucial factor in helping the skin’s elasticity and texture. This, in turn, can help the appearance of stretch marks.

Dermaroller™: Dr Chantrey is recognised as a key expert in Dermaroller™ techniques. This procedure uses a tool with tiny needles to puncture the skin’s surface. It’s wonderful for scar repair as well as stretch marks. Using Dermaroller™ is a way to restore the skin’s natural scaffolding, boosting elasticity and vitality.

FRM (Fractional Radiofrequency Microneedle): This treatment delivers high-tensioned radiofrequency through the insulated microneedle. They are penetrated into the dermis at a certain depth to increase the collagen fibres in the body. This helps to provide firmer and healthier-looking skin.

Would I Be The Right Candidate For Stretch Marks Treatment?

This procedure can be conducted on both men and women over 18 years of age. If you’ve got stretch marks that are causing you to feel self-conscious about your appearance, then you may benefit from stretch marks treatment. Whether your stretch marks are white, brown, purple, pink or grey – they can be helped with the right procedure.

What Are The Risks Involved?

Due to the fact these procedures are non-surgical, they carry with them very few risks. However, both treatments involve penetrating the skin’s surface, so naturally, some redness is to be expected for up to 24 hours after. Any other risks will be discussed in great detail during your first consultation.
