Treatment
During the procedure, tiny incisions (2-3mm) are made on the area that is to be treated and a fine fibre optic is inserted. The laser breaks down (melts) fats cells, which are a extracted using a fine cannula. The laser is used again to stimulate skin contraction and tighten the skin so that the skin remains taught over the treated area with no sagging. The duration of the treatment depends on the number and size of the areas being treated.
Side effects include slight swelling, bruising and tenderness for a few days. In addition, a compression garment will have to be worn 24/7 for 7 days during the daytime. We advise patients not to get involved in strenuous physical activity. Also if their job is not too demanding physically, the patient can return to work the very next day.
